Look toward Hudson Bay Mountain on January 29th to see the Torch Light Parade.
Skiers will light the night sky for the entertainment of those in the valley bottom - a Spirit of the Mountains Event!
To view the parade - find a spot in town where you can see the ski runs: Chapmans Challenge to be exact. If you want to be a part of the Torch light parade ski team. Sign up on the Mountain or at the down town office and it's a $20 fee. All proceeds to Special Olympics.

The event is an annual event conducted by the Australian Sun Peaks Family Cup Committee in association with our Canadian partners from Sun Peaks Resort and Sun Peaks Tourism.
The Australian Committee is headed by Andrew Wenham & Donna Orr along with Steve & Jenny Cooper, David Joseph, Catherine Wenham, David Baker, Alan “Barney” Davis, Wendy Pinkerton & Bec Masterton. Our Canadian partners include Christopher Nicolson, Al Raine & Anne Haight.
Primary Sponsorship and support of the event is provided by Travelplan Ski Holidays (Australia), Delta Sun Peaks Hotel and Event Supplies (Australia).
With over 170 competitors in 2009 from three Countries (Australia, New Zealand & Canada) Canada won the coveted Sun Peaks Family Cup Country Award closely followed by Australia and New Zealand.

Vernon Winter Carnival is the largest winter celebration in Western Canada. We are now planning our 50th annual Carnival “50 years of Carnival Fun”. The 2010 Carnival will be held January 29th to February 7th. What a great opportunity to reach visitors and our local market for this special year! Media coverage and interest in all special events will be unprecedented.
